When it comes to Baguio, most of us would automatically think about Burnham Park, the Mines View, Session Road, the Lion's Head and the Mansion. These are the frequently visited sites in Baguio, and even most of the travel blogs and guides would suggest these items to you.
As a traveler who wants to experience new adventures, I always look beyond ordinary.
During our visit in Baguio, my friend Jenghis and I tried researching new places to explore. After few minutes of intensive research using our laptop, we ended up looking at this place in Camp 6 called the Hydro Falls.
With rusty bridge, steeply cliffs and rocky paths, we thought this place would be a great adventure for us.
Not knowing that we would encounter a trekking experience in Baguio, we only had casual wear with us. I was equipped with rubber shoes, khaki short, shirt and a bridge camera, while my friend was wearing boat shoes, pants and long jacket. Even without medical kit, we had decided to have this a go.
We got out of the hotel and left some of our stuff. We went to Jollibee at T. Claudio street corner Harrison Road. From there, we took the jeepney going to Camp 6. We waited for almost half an hour for it to be full.
We sat near the driver in order for us to constantly remind him about alighting in Camp 6, where the Hydro Falls is located. After less than an hour, he dropped us at a small shed and we were instructed to cross the hanging bridge, and he said that from there we could just follow the trails going to the falls.

We crossed the bridge and saw these steps leading to the community from the other side of the stream. This was the safest thing that we encountered and after this, everything was a complete expressions of heck.

There was a small community in the area, we passed by small houses, a church and a basketball court. We went straight to where the common path led us and from there the adventure began.
The first leg of the trail gave us thrills, we walked on narrow cliffs with only the plant twigs to hold on. The cliffs were probably 9 to 12 feet high with huge boulders of rock waiting at the bottom. Wrong movements might lead to your life's end.

After surviving the narrow paths of great danger, the next phase of the trek would be easier but still would require caution as you would cross the vast valley of spiky rocks. This took us 10 minutes of walking plus additional 10 minutes for selfies and photo shoots.
Next thing on this adventure was conquering the walls. This challenged our wall climbing and sliding skills. Man! You would appreciate having your travel buddy once you faced this part of the wall, a helping hand would have a great significance for your survival.

We continued hopping boulders, and minutes later we could now hear the sound of raging water coming from the falls, signifying that we were near and we're meandering the right course.
All of the hardships that we had encountered paid off in the end, as we finally witnessed the beauty of the falls. The vivid sound of the rushing water made as excited to move closer.

We did it. There were only few people within the area.

We had no extra clothes so we couldn't splash around, but that didn't stop us from testing the water by dipping our feet. The water was too cold and that's given since we were at Baguio.

This was a fun experience for us. We killed some time and there's no money involved. If you want to experience Baguio in a new, challenging, yet refreshing way, then this Hydro Falls adventure would be a right place for you.
